Word Evolution

Players take turns turning words into other words by playing transformation cards: add letters, remove sounds, make anagrams, and more.

The inspiration was the word ladder game invented by Lewis Carroll in the 19th century, mashed up with the “flat” puzzle rules used by the National Puzzlers’ League‘s monthly Enigma puzzle magazines.

This game had a few playtests in 2019-2020 but has been idle ever since. I have hopes of making it “work” someday, but it’s dormant for now.
